Clark’s Snacks is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our operations in the production of microwave & kernel pouch popcorn. Our goal is to operate sustainably, conserve resources, reduce waste, and comply fully with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Objectives
- Reduce energy and water consumption across the facility.
- Minimize waste generation through reduction, reuse, and recycling programs.
- Prevent contamination from oils, chemicals, and waste materials.
- Source raw materials responsibly and support sustainable agriculture.
Compliance and Continuous Improvement
- Comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular environmental reviews and audits.
- Continuously improve our Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Train employees to increase awareness and responsibility for environmental stewardship.
Environmental Impact Assessment
Key operational processes include;
- Raw Material Handling: Corn kernels, oils, flavorings, and packaging materials.
- Slurry Preparation: Component addition, mixing, heating, transfer of slurry.
- Filling & Sealing microwaveable Bags: microwave-safe bags, polypropylene films
- Packaging: Carton loading, paperboard, adhesive, and palletizing.
- Storage & Distribution: Palletized product stacked in warehouse, shipping finished product.

- kWh used per 1,000 units produced
- Gallons of water used per day
- Tons of waste sent to landfill vs. recycled/composted
- Review Frequency: Quarterly EMS reviews; annual impact reassessment.
